the world lecture project

About us

With more than 59.000 videos (wlp)° is one of the largest video libraries for academic videos with contributions of most outstanding scholars and scientists from around the globe. The library is open and freely accessible for everyone. You can sort systematically through videos from many different disciplines, universities, and countries. To see what leading scientists from different countries and faculties have to say about the most pressing issues of the 21'st century like climate change, artificial intelligence or the crisis of democratic systems, we started to create interdisciplinary topic sites. On topic sites we are bringing together videos of scholars and scientists from different disciplines and cultures to discuss these topics in the light of ongoing controversies, and opposing opinions. Why do we want to share our data with the Mozilla Data Collective? We think the World Lecture Project provides valuable data and information, and we are happy to share it. We are unable to review all the videos, but since most are published through university channels and reliable sources, the information and data provided generally meets high quality standards. All videos on curated topics (video collections) are reviewed. Our goal is to support the international and interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge. Through the Mozilla Data Collective, we hope to find other organisations and individuals to collaborate with or join our project. We are currently working on curated video collections showcasing the most outstanding ideas for a human/ethical internet, and we would be delighted to collaborate with the Mozilla initiative.
